Available on the App Store
SpotPal is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later. Dynamic Island and Live Activities depend on device and system support. The website's interactive demonstration does not save real research data. Pro membership is purchased through Apple's purchase flow in the app.
Records and task recovery
Use the buttons to record passersby, entries and purchases. Pausing stops counting and excludes paused time from the active duration. Pausing, resuming or continuing an existing task does not create another chargeable task. After restarting, check Home for unfinished tasks. An ongoing task from another device cannot be counted simultaneously on this device, preventing duplicate events.
Free allowances and report exports
Single-store and two-store modes share 5 new observation tasks in total. The free version observes up to 2 stores at once; Pro supports 3–4. Rider, queue, busy, direction and audience features share 3 advanced-observation task authorizations. Single-store and multi-store reports share 3 generations; combined analyses share 3 uses; premises comparisons have 3 uses. You can create 3 location notes in total; deleting one does not restore its allowance. Startup-cost and profit calculations each have 10 successful uses. These allowances accumulate from installation and do not reset periodically. Pro removes these usage limits.
Submitting an edited historical profit calculation creates a new record/use if any input changes. Reopening a record or resubmitting unchanged inputs does not consume another use. See the Terms of Use for details. Reports export as images or PDFs through the system share sheet. Re-exporting the same core report content or changing its format does not consume another report use. Settings → Clear All Data removes app data; manage copies exported outside the app separately. Clearing data does not cancel purchases or reset consumed lifetime allowances.
Location, maps and permissions
Location can be inaccurate indoors or with a weak signal. Check the accuracy indicator and adjust the map. You can enter a location manually if permission is denied. Camera, photo and microphone access supports actions you initiate; manage permissions in iOS Settings. App lock uses system authentication rather than storing facial data.
iCloud, photos and audio
Sync requires a supported app build, a signed-in Apple Account, network connectivity, sufficient iCloud storage and system permission. Restart after changing the sync setting. If synchronization is delayed, check status, account and network instead of repeatedly clearing data. Structured records can sync; photos and audio files remain local. Sync is not a complete backup and does not guarantee media recovery on another device.
Purchases and restoration
Lifetime Pro is a one-time non-consumable purchase for the currently released Pro features, with no recurring renewal. Actual availability and regional price are shown by the App Store. Use the same Apple Account used for purchase and select Restore Purchases in the app. A pending, canceled, failed or unverifiable transaction does not mean Pro has been activated. Apple handles refunds at Report a Problem; the developer cannot change Apple's payments or refunds.
